An Evening in Bloom is a summer evening experience designed to be shared. Grab your friends and join us for a relaxed, hands-on gathering as the light softens over the garden. This is a chance to slow down, make something with your hands, and savor the colors, textures, and rhythms of summer.
What We'll Do:
- We’ll begin with a guided tour of the dye garden as we discuss how plants can be used for textile dyeing and what you might want to add to your own garden.
- Gather fresh botanicals from the garden to use in dyeing our own items.
- Design and dye your own items using a variety of techniques to add color and surface design.
- Enjoy food together as the sun begins to set.
All dye materials and one silk item are included (cotton available if preferred). You can choose from scarves, pillowcases, bandanas, and a variety of smaller items, such as scrunchies and handkerchiefs. Additional dyeable items will be available for purchase.
This is a 3-hr evening event. A grazing board and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Please note your dietary needs on the registration form, and I will do my best to accommodate them.
Our facilities include an air-conditioned classroom, bathroom, and abundant outdoor work spaces. Please dress comfortably for both indoor and outdoor climates, as well as an evening of standing, sitting, and brief walking.
