Dyeing to Sew: Garden Patterns

Build a collection of naturally dyed fabrics inspired by the garden. In this workshop, you'll create a curated palette of fabrics designed specifically for quilting, patchwork, appliqué, garment accents, visible mending, and other sewing projects.

Each participant will receive three yards of organic mid-weight cotton, divided into fat quarters and prepared for dyeing. We will explore the many ways to create surface design using natural dyes. We'll do ecoprinting, bundle dyeing, ice dyeing, shibori, plant hammering, and more! This will be an incredible opportunity to try out several techniques and leave with fabric ready for your next project!

Included: Three yards of organic mid-weight cotton, divided into fat quarters and prepared for dyeing.

Pair this workshop with Dyeing to Sew: Classic Solids to create a beautiful collection of naturally dyed solids and botanical prints for quilts, garments, and all of your sewing projects.

Skill Level: Beginner-friendly. No previous dyeing experience required.

Private Classes: This is the perfect class for sewing & quilting groups. If you are interested in booking a private event for your group, please reach out directly to alison@ecologyofcolor.com
