Garden Dyes Sampler

Explore the many ways to use garden-grown botanicals as natural dyes! This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone curious about how to grow and use botanical color in an approachable, creative way.

What We’ll Do:

  • You’ll dye a half-yard of cotton fabric in a vibrant range of colors, learning how to use modifiers and overdyes to expand your palette. You’ll leave with beautifully dyed samples perfect for small projects, along with project ideas for all skill levels.

  • We’ll also explore a fresh-leaf indigo technique. Together, we’ll harvest indigo from the garden and use it to create luminous color on silk. A small silk item — such as a scrunchie or handkerchief — is included, with larger pieces like scarves and bandanas available for purchase to dye during the workshop.

  • While our dye pots simmer, we’ll gather seasonal flowers and experiment with plant hammering and bundle dyeing to create layered, botanical surface designs.

This immersive, hands-on day is filled with color, creativity, and discovery — a perfect experience to share with a friend. All materials are included.

Coffee, tea, and treats will be served.
