Discover the magic of indigo and learn to create pattern, texture, and depth on cellulose fabrics using a traditional iron-based indigo vat. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore a range of surface-design techniques, including tied, stitched, and clay-based resists, to create beautifully layered, organic patterns.
Each participant will receive four cotton napkins to design and dye during the workshop. You’re also welcome to bring additional cellulose-fiber materials to experiment with—detailed guidance on fabric selection and preparation will be emailed before class. A curated selection of dye-ready textiles will also be available for purchase during the workshop.
Experience the slow craft of indigo, learn new techniques, and create one-of-a-kind pieces to take home. Perfect for beginners and returning dyers alike.
Coffee, tea, and treats will be served.
